Information And Awareness

A couple in New Jersey just built an "immersive village" called "LifeTown Shoppes" for children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum. It's purpose is for these youngsters to go and practice real life every day errands and activities that may be highly anxiety inducing in your typical shopping centre.

They also recieve money upon arrival and are given the opportunity to decide how to us it. This is a great practical application for learning about money and spending. Volunteers man the shops while the youngsters go about their daily bussines.

There are 15 stores in the 11000 square foot mall. Some of the stores include: a bank, petshop, clothing and grocery store ect. There is even a health centre where you can find a dentist and doctor.
